for now, the only thing we're growing on this farm is kids - not the goat variety

Birthday Baby Carrier

I have an October birthday, and this month I’ve decided to treat myself and Rosebud to a deluxe baby carrier. My sis-in-law introduced me to the ERGO baby carriers when Doodle was 15 months old. I liked it a lot, but didn’t feel I could justify spending the money since he was already walking and would be wanting to walk more and more rather than being carried.

Rosebud, though, being almost 6 months old, still has several months of carrying/holding left (thank goodness! She’s growing so fast.) I used other backpacks and slings with the other kids, but I look forward to trying the ERGO. Rosebud has outgrown the Snugli, which I enjoy using for little babies, and the Gerry backpack I have has a wide profile and isn’t terribly comfortable. My sling is pretty comfortable during the early months, but the one shoulder support gets old when they get heavy.

Since Ergo offers a 30 day trial, there is not much risk. To boot, this carrier really holds its value. Doing a completed listings search at eBay was an eye opener. There is sometimes no price difference between new and used ERGO carriers sold on eBay. So, there is little risk here. When I tried the Ergo (for about an hour) a couple of Christmases ago, I remember it being comfortable with a low profile (which will be nice for maneuvering around the house.) I look forward to placing my order. I just need to make up my mind about what color I want! – milkmaid

Yea! I’ve been meaning to ask if you decided to get one. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

I went back and forth on colors for the longest time and finally decided on black with green trim, thinking the black might not show wear and stains as much as they lighter colors. I can’t wait for it to get here!
