Product Review: Carrot Ink Cartridges

We’ve had our HP 932c printer for 7 years now. During that time we’ve keep it running smoothly on primarily refurbished cartridges from Carrot Ink. I order their black and colored ink cartridges along with their do-it-yourself refill kits and save a bundle over the HP-brand cartridge prices. The refill kits come with good instructions, and the process is not that messy or time-consuming, as I once had feared. (I do take precautions by wearing an apron, but so far I haven’t had any need for it.)

If you are refilling, you need to do it as soon as you see the printer ink fading. Otherwise, the “ribbon” in the cartridge will dry out, and the refill will either be useless or the ink will be uneven. I’ve found that each refurbished cartridge can handle 2 refills (if they are filled promptly) before the print quality starts to go down. If you’re planning to refill, you’ll want to have a refill kit on hand before you actually need it.

    Hey Milkmaid,

Could we talk about this? I am irritated with the ammount of ink my new HP printer is eating up and told Laura and she remembered you had written this, so I found it. Do you order the refill kits over and over? And will the refill kit make 3 more cartridges?

I don’t know if this is the best way to contact you about this….
