We’re hosting the first public speaking club of the new school year here next week. Doodle thinks he’s ready to get in on the fun, so here’s what the kids have prepared —
Carman – the Beatitudes to the Golden Rule from the Gospel of Luke
Sudoku – Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”
Doodle – “Jump or Jiggle” by Evelyn Beyer
Do you have a favorite poem or passage that you’ve memorized?
Last year Banjo memorized A Time to Talk by Robert Frost and so I memorized it, too. “No, not as there is a time to talk, I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground, Blade and up and five feet tall, And plod: I go up to the stone wall for a friendly visit.”
It was good for both of us.
Thanks, Jonesey. I’m not familiar with that one. I’ll look it up.
